New Violent ‘Anti-Tren’ Gang Established in the US

A gang referenced by government investigators as “Anti-Tren” is making its presence felt in several areas of the country. The government said the “Anti-Tren Enterprise” members are former gangsters associated with the transnational Tren de Aragua gang that originated in Venezuela.

Anti-Tren members were first identified for legal action by the government in an indictment that was posted in April. The legal filing indicated the Anti-Tren Enterprise began operating in New York City and the boroughs of the Bronx and Queens. Investigators said the Anti-Tren gang is also operating in other areas of the country, but those were not specified.

The Daily Mail reported the new criminal enterprise had already established itself in Central and South America before moving into the United States. DM reported that an anonymous federal law enforcement source said, “You have to understand, this Anti-Tren movement is not originally from the United States- this is a South American thing.” The source said the gang was well-established before moving in on America. “This is Chile, Peru, Colombia, Venezuela. That’s where it really is originating.”
