President Donald Trump on Thursday issued a statement denying a report from The Wall Street Journal stating that he has approved plans to attack Iran.

The Journal reported on Wednesday that Trump informed his senior aides on Tuesday evening that he has approved attack plans for Iran but was waiting to see if Iran would end its nuclear program before issuing the order to proceed.

The Pentagon has sent multiple U.S. warships to the Middle East in the past few days, including three Navy destroyers and two carrier strike groups, according to the newspaper.
